Self-care looks different to me now than it did before the pandemic.
I used to play on several amateur mixed soccer teams and practice indoors a lot, but now I've rediscovered outdoor running. I go out for a long run in the morning and try to stay away from others. This routine allows me to clear my head.
In addition, I do my best to groom and cherish myself as best I can: whether it be facials or polishing my fingernails and toenails at home. I have always loved reading and writing so I have continued to do both and I have tried to stay in touch with family and friends remotely to optimize my social health.
I also believe that a non-restrictive balanced diet, drinking plenty of water to stay hydrated, and working on sleep hygiene are three very important factors for my immunity and general health, so I have been paying a lot of attention to them in the last few months.

One of my favorite ways to stay healthy during stressful times is good planning. Making a plan for the week, I take up all my time. This makes me less nervous. It's harder for me to feel overwhelmed when I know what and when I'm doing. Things don't always go 100�cording to plan, but that's the foundation of the day.
I also make sure to plan my meals and set aside time for exercise, even if I only do 20 minutes. Making time for physical activity can seem intimidating, but it makes you feel great after your workout.
